Amazing! Bludorn has been on our radar for a long time and we finally went for Houston Restaurant Week. They have a simple menu to choose from, which is nice but we were curious about the regular menu. One of us got the HRW menu -- the chilled corn soup, pesto gnocchi, and chocolate cake. We also ordered the octopus, kampachi crudo and garganelli pasta. Wow everything was so good. My husband didn't realize the corn soup was cold but it was very refreshing. The pastas were amazing, we really enjoyed the garganelli. The octopus was the best we had in a long time. We got a few cocktails too, our favorite was the lil lassi -- a play on mango lassi but clarified. We will be back!

This restaurant has been recommended to me by so many native Houstonians and I can see why. I would rank it among my top 3 upscale restaurants in Houston. My friends and I came here on a weekday for Houston Restaurant Week. Parking is scarce with only 4 or 5 spots in their lot and the rest is reserved for valet. Alternatively, you can find street parking on Taft Street. The service we received was commendable. Our servers were knowledgeable on the menu, provided great recommendations, and frequently checked in on us throughout the dinner service. The simplest gestures like folding our napkins while we got up to use the restroom left an impression on me and showed me their attention to detail. As for the food, we had so many great dishes, several of which were complementary such as the arancini bites and the rolls. The rolls were to die for especially with the her butter. I ordered the Lil' Lassi which was a refreshing and subtly sweet gin-based cocktail. Apart from HRW, we also tried a half portion of the short rib ravioli. This was one of my favorite dishes of the night. The HRW menu was three courses for $55. I ordered the chilled corn soup, Scottish salmon, and chocolate cake. I personally didn't care for the soup. The Scottish salmon was tender and I've never had such crispy salmon skin. The chocolate cake wasn't too sweet and it paired well with the salted caramel ice cream. It was a great finale to the meal but I was way too full to finish. I can't believe it took me this long to dine here but I'll definitely be back.

Bludorn is a Houston gem. You can valet out front or park in the back parking lot. We recently went for restaurant week and it was delicious. Bread service- yes. So fresh & salted butter. Crab fries were a special- they were cleaned claws with a delicious dipping sauce. You should always try the soup here- cold corn soup was very tasty. Salad was average. The salmon and pork loin were both cooked perfectly and amazing. Cheesy polenta was some of the best I've had. The pavlova was a cloud of perfection. I will definitely be back.

Let me start with some parking logistics to make the beginning of your night easier .... Choose to valet in front of the restaurant on Taft or, turn onto Rhodes Place, the street directly behind Taft, and park in the small parking area behind Bludorn. Onto the bar.... you want to arrive before your reservation for plenty of time to order a drink with Eric at the bar. This bar tender's enthusiasm, knowledge, and craft is absolutely going to make your night! The Dilettante Julep is the most fantastic flavor profile! It starts as one flavor as you first sip but changes as the drink slowly rolls down your tongue. Trust me- ask Eric to make this cocktail for you and you'll wish you had sipped it before! Now the food.... Everything is scrumptious Well thought out menu with local sourcing and creative recipes. Loved everything we tried. The short rib ravioli, yummmm. Everything we tried was freshly cooked, fantastic aroma and flavor. I added some photos but truly- all was great. Bring your date, your family, or Client... it's that kind of neighborhood restaurant. And although i didn't try the Oysters; those around me that did made several comments they were fantastic!

Came for dinner with another couple on Friday night after not having been for quite some time. This reservation is still a hot ticket and we were happy to have a 7:30 reservation. After checking in at the front we got a cocktail at the bar while waiting for our friends to arrive and our table to be ready. Both the bar and the dining room were very well attended which made for a vibrant dinner scene while also not being too loud to hear each other. For dinner, two of us opted for the restaurant week menu while two did not. To start, we ordered the house made pasta with truffle for the table. TBH, it wasn't my favorite and I thought the garganelli with mushrooms was a more flavorful dish. I really enjoyed both the pork loin and the pavlova off the HRW menu but the dish of the night was absolutely the duck. It was insane. If getting duck is something that you would at all consider then you MUST get this duck. The breast was incredibly, melt in your mouth tender and the confit leg was crispy perfection. I straight up cannot recommend it enough. Service was attentive but leisurely, in a good way. We were never wondering where our food was but everything came out coursed evenly so we weren't rushed through the meal. Great restaurant to get dolled up for a night out with friends or a date.

Food is always perfect--the taste, the presentation, the quality and quantity...I can't rave enough about it. The service is also amazing...the waiters and staff are welcoming, kind, and accommodating. They're always around to assist and answer any questions. Water and drinks were always filled. Tbh they need a raise! The ambiance is perfect for a romantic date. Everyone around us was dressed nicely and semi fancy. 10/10 food, vibes, service. Would definitely come back. Food: Squash blossoms--delicious. Definitely recommend! They remind me of avocado rolls from Cheesecake Factory but fancier LOL. Tomato tart--light and flaky pastry, Parmesan, basil, arugula def complement the tomato well. Branzino -- amazing. Def recommend!! Also not too heavy but def tasty and filling. Chicken-- delicious. Filling and flavorful! Potato wedges--perfectly seasoned and crispy. A must!

Last night my wife and I visited Bludorn for the 14th time since their opening during the Pandemic in 2020. I noticed I haven't posted a review since that time so I figured it was time to update. Bludorn is the epitome of upscale dining in Houston. From the Valet remembering you although you only come by 3 - 4 times a year, to the host staff greeting you by name, all the way through the well run service in a great space with the open kitchen for entertainment. 5 stars for sure. Last night was no exception. Its Houston Restaurant Weeks and Bludorn is participating for the first time. We are typically not restaurant weeks diners as we like to experience the wider breadth of the a la carte menu. Bludorn did allow for a la carte ordering off of the restaurant weeks menu however which was nice as there was a dish on there that my wife was interested in. Vincent the somm helped us pick a great Chablis to pair with dinner. We started with a couple of items from the Raw Bar - Bludorn's innovative take on shrimp cocktail with jumbo shrimp wrapped in lettuce with cocktail sauce and horseradish. I think this dish has been on the menu since the beginning and was spot on last night. The other raw dish we enjoyed was a Kanpachi Crudo with a tomato broth and enoki mushrooms. Very fresh fish, and the broth, tomatoes and mushrooms were very complimentary. Very savory dish. For mid courses we tried the Cucumber Gazpacho and the Crab Fingers. The Gazpacho was one of the best dishes I've ever tasted. Creamy cool cucumber soup with blue crab and serrano peppers. The heat from the serranos perfectly balanced the tartness of the soup. I certainly need to have more Gazpacho in my life. The crab fingers were very good, but not as memorable as some of the other items. For our mains I had the Blackened Cobia served over green gumbo with collards and spinach. I had seen this dish on Instagram and it was really the impetus of this visit to Bludorn. Outstanding. Perfect texture and seasoning on the fish with the gumbo broth and greens also being very tasty. My wife chose the Pork Loin dish over Polenta that was available on the Restaurant Weeks menu. When she first tried to cut into the pork loin she was worried it was going to be tough. Turned out someone must have forgotten to sharpen the knife provide as the meat once it made it to the mouth was tender and moist. Tasty polenta and swiss chard along with a tasty cherry tomato black garlic sauce complemented the pork well. We were full, but still wanted to try desserts. Sorry to say that they were not on the same level as the savory courses. We ordered the Peach Muille Fille off of the restaurant weeks menu. It just wasn't very good. The Muille Fille part was too dry and perhaps there wasn't enough cream to balance that out. We also ordered the Chocolate Torte with Miso Ice Cream, and were given a complimentary Chocolate Cake with Vanilla Bourbon Ice Cream off the restaurant weeks menu perhaps since this is my birthday month. These were fine, but not outstanding. We might have enjoyed them if we weren't so full. Bottom line is I'm not taking points off for dessert that we probably should have forgone anyway. One other point I'd like to share about Bludorn. As an upscale dining restaurant, they do a great job of handling parties of 2. I would say that 75% of the tables in the restaurant were parties of 2, so most were sat at comfortable 4 tops. We had a 4 top booth with a great view of the kitchen. There are some 2 tops in the restaurant, but they all look like there is plenty of room on the tables, and between other guests. One of the themes of my reviews is that I sometimes lament dining as a party of two and being assigned just the worst tables in the house. This doesn't happen at Bludorn.

Went for a girls night. Cocktails were yum!! I ordered a lemon drop martini and it was well balanced. Their bread for the table was reminiscent of the rolls from school but I loved those rolls so haha. Our waiter, Jose, was friendly and ready to recommend and tell us all about whatever dish we were curious about and only negative would be because he was so thorough with everyone it took him a little longer to get to us. I ordered the small portion of ravioli and don't judge but potato wedges. thought the ravioli wouldn't fill me up but the 4 pieces did!! Everyone I went with loved their food. It's a cute place for a date night that is for sure! Lighting is low and romantic. Get you a lemon drop martini and enjoy a date night here!

Ambiance: Upscale restaurant with a rotating/seasonal menu perfect for a formal date night, anniversary, birthday/celebration, or unique dining experience. The food was incredible! My first time trying oysters - really great experience! Knowledgeable and friendly staff/service. Street parking available, bar onsite as well. Beautiful interior aesthetic and nice ambiance.
